As a Senior Pastor of a local church, I have become convinced that revival is upon us!
In times of prayer over the last few weeks, I feel the Lord has led me to a couple of keys we really need to get a hold of to move to the next level of His plans and purposes for us. I will attempt to briefly share a little bit here that I pray will enable us all to move deeper into the destiny He has for His church in these times.
A good friend asked me a question recently: "How do you pastor a church in revival? Just get out of the way and let God move?" I think the answer to that question would be yes, but it looks a little different than what most might think.
Many have a picture in their head as to what that might look like. I have found that most believe that God will just move upon the people. Well... there are often times in His glory where all are impacted and all can feel the tangible and manifest presence of God. Miracles, signs and wonders occur and Jesus is glorified. It is at this point that the church, the children of God, can receive a massive outpouring of God's love and fire. This is the beginning!
Then something else happens, and this is the critical and key point where revival usually gets quenched and squashed out. This is where God is currently causing a massive shift in how we think. Filled with this new wine, the children of God begin to allow the living waters to flow freely through them. As foretold in Scripture, the Holy Spirit is poured out on all flesh and they begin to give freely of what they have received. In fear of losing control of our services and offending men, leaders usually at this point, begin to control what is shared through the body. I believe that there is a prevalent belief in the church that if God wants to do something, He will do it through the pastor or leadership only.
It is my belief that a primary role of the pastor or shepherd is to help guide the children of God into all He has for them when it comes to allowing His kingdom to be manifest through them. How sad when many times we shut off the very fountains and wells of revival that we have been crying out for! We must let the Spirit of God manifest in all His glory and creativity through everyone.
Prophetic words cannot be contained anymore! We need the life and encouragement they bring. The annointing to heal cannot be contained and limited only to a pastor who may or may not be anointed to heal like someone else in the church. Paintings must be painted and songs must be written, sung and released! Dancers must dance! I am convinced that a generation of believers has sat dormant in the church and is in danger of going to the grave carrying a seed that could have been something amazingly beautiful. Arise! Now is the time to believe again! Now is the time to come of of the shelf and step into your divine destiny as a child of the king! As you release Him you worship Him and bring Him joy!
Many cry out for a move of God that is already released. When the power of God begins to move through the body of Christ, we have quickly tried to regulate it. Think about the sheer arrogance of that! We, as mere men, trying to make God's order and agenda bend to our own. We create cute little 2 hour meetings where the Spirit of God is usually given some time at the end of what we call "worship" and then maybe at the end of the service. Why can't we give Him the entire service? Let's lay our agendas down! Who are we afraid of offending?

Another area where I feel the Holy Spirit is showing me that we must change is our tenacity and will to keep moving forward into His presence and to carry the battle for our families, cities, regions and nations forward. Why do we stop when the enemy is on the run? Many cry out for revival in their cities and churches, have a couple of meetings and quit. They mistakenly think it will be easy, but battles must be fought to take the land. Your Father has given you the victory, but we must stay on the offensive.
This week I had a dream where an angel came to me. I asked his name and he told me his name was Hammer. I knew that he had been sent by the Lord to help us keep "hammering" away at the strongholds and walls in our city. We must keep hammering until the walls come down. This requires sacrifice, time and effort. Sometimes we will have meetings every night. Sometimes we will pray and release the kingdom of heaven to the hungry until midnight or later. How do you feel about that? Is it important to you? Enough to sacrifice your sleep, your personal time, and a lot of "fun" things that you would rather be doing? What is the Father doing tonight? Could He use you? What would He have you do? Whay settle for the status quo? Why wait? The Holy Spirit is poured out and you carry Him inside you right now!
I believe Father is waking this generation up to the truth that the harvest is now! Revival is in you! Release it! If you cannot release it in your church, release it n the street! Find a place that will allow you to be who God has made you to be! You are not meant to be a stagnant pool of water, but rivers of living water are to flow through you now! Let the river out! You are a conduit of the Holy Spirit! As a pastor and minister of the gospel of Jesus Christ, I release you to go and take His kingdom. Jesus Himself has already commanded you to go. If you do not know what to do, contact me personally and I will help get you going.
Once you get moving, never stop. Go, go, go! Keep doing what He told us to do. Love him with all you have and all you are and love others with that love by declaring that the kingdom is at hand and then demonstrating that kingdom.
Where you go, the Holy Spirit goes too!

400 Years And Now We Enter The Promise!

Recently, the Lord has been speaking to me alot about the importance of His timing. I believe we are living in a strategic kairos moment. A special time in history where the reality of this world is aligning with the superior reality of the kingdom of heaven.
Across the nation we see churches springing to life and in areas where there has been spiritual dryness; we are beginning to see the river spring forth! These truly are exciting times!
Here in the Williamsburg/Jamestown area, the very womb of our nation, there is a special significance on the period of approximately 400 years since the founding of our nation less than 6 miles from our church at Jamestown. I believe the Lord has shown me in times of prayer that just as the nation of Israel waited in bondage for 400 years in Egypt, so has the church in America waited for 400 years with a great promise.
From time to time great prophetic words have been spoken over our region and in our nation concerning a great move of God in our generation. Those of us with eyes to see know we are now in the beginnings of this time. For this is what I hear the Lord saying to the church in America...
Move now! Arise for your time has arrived! 400 years ago I planted a people here, a people pregnant with My promise. A nation of sons and daughters with legal right to a royal inheritance. And now, after 400 years of gestation and preparation, the world is ready, this nation is ready. Indeed all creation is awaiting the revelation of this generation who know their true identity.
I have purposed for this land to see My glory like never imagined and now is the time says the Lord. Look out over the land and see that it is good and I have given it to you. You have asked and I have given the nations to you as an inheritance. For America, the time has come and My glory shall be hidden no longer. The world will say that surely there is a Living God in Williamsburg, Virginia, and the United States. Greensprings is a place of my glory, a place where My presence is forever tangible, and a portal to heaven itself.
My glory is here! I am pleased that you have prepared a place for My glory to dwell and abide with you. Continue to allow freedom to worship Me in Spirit and in Truth. Do not restrict the move of My Spirit, believe and you will see the glory of God.
I have sent the fire upon the ancient altar, I have poured out My Spirit. I have let loose the waters of the ancient wells. Angels that have awaited this time are awakening to the dawn of this glorious day for America. This is My time. The time of My kingdom being built and established.
My generals are awakening from their slumber and realizing that they have hosts to command. Arise and go! March on the cities and experience the goodness of divine destiny and the victory that belongs to the Lord!
Move my children, move into My purpose for you. Heaven is being revealed through you now. The season for sowing is closing. Harvest is now! I have heard the cries of my children in bondage. Arise, take the spoils and come worship Me. Then continue your march and take the land I promised to your fathers. I have not forgotten My promises.
This move will never end and all of heaven is rejoicing as it begins. Angelic activity is increasing all over the earth. In your church you have seen the increase and I am sending them as they hear the sound I am releasing through you My children. I have sent them to minister to this generation and assist you. The armies of heaven and My armies on the earth shall merge in this time to carry out My plans.
As you simply speak in unison about what I am doing, about what you are seeing in the kingdom, My voice will be so loud through you, that all will look on in amazement as the reality of Jesus is revealed!

New Reformation! Bigger than any building or structure!

One thing that God is consistently speaking into this revival in Williamsburg is that it is bigger than any man, woman, building or structure. Every person who speaks in our pulpit is speaking a similar word for our city, region, and church. God is doing something new that is violently shaking off tradition and religious spirits.
Out of fear, the structure we call the church has been afraid to truly release the body of Christ to be the sons and daughters of God. We have failed, because of a spirit of fear and control to raise up the royal priesthood that has been God's plan since the beginning of His church.
We have been satisfied with the first reformation which was a great and Spirit led step, but only a beginning. The new reformation is that we can all truly be released to do the works of Jesus and even the "greater works" spoken of by Jesus Himself.
A generation is being set loose on the earth that is not content with others' stories, but is believing the promises of the Father that proclaim that they too shall do mighty deeds for the purposes of God!
The last reformation gave us the Word in our own languages and the freedom to go to the Father on our own. Now He is sending all of us out, He is releasing the sons and daughters with the gospel of the kingdom!
His presence is here in every meeting, His glory is among us, His Spirit has come, now the great explosion of the sons and daughters of God is upon us! Are you ready to be released?!!

The Gates Are Being Opened! Sons And Daughters Being Revealed!

This week has been a powerful time at Greensprings and the Father has been revealing His heart to us about our identity as sons and daughters of the King. Here is a fresh revelation that the Lord has been impressing upon me this week from a variety of sources that I feel led to share with the church as a whole.
Out of His love, He has provided us with the church which is a safe place, a place to become comfortable with the supernatural, His kingdom and our identity. Now the time has come when the gates are being opened and we are being called out from behind our walls. We are ready...
So much is being revealed to us in this generation, but nothing is greater than our genuine identity that is being revealed to us and then to all the world. We have His spiritual DNA, we are being released in His image.
If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, you are His family, you are seated with Him, and you are a prince or princess of the kingdom!
In this generation, the Father is truly revealing His sons and daughters as He has purposed since the beginning of time. All of creation has been waiting with great anticipation for this hour. As His glory is being poured out upon the church at new levels, His children are coming of age and stepping into their destinies as a generation of sons and daughters empowered by their Father, Almighty God Himself!
We are a generation that is finally comfortable with Him and the manifestations of His Spirit that come in His presence. We will wear His love and drip with His anointing and presence. When we walk into a room, area or a region, the atmosphere changes.
Be excited because this is the big coming out party for the church. We are being revealed. Not a day way off in the future, but today! You are a part of The Family! A revealed family with supernatural ability! We are being called out in this time!
He is knocking on the door of the church in this hour...It's time for His children to come out and represent Him to this generation. This world will see a family rise up who will look like our Daddy and take care of the business of His kingdom! Arise, Your time has come to be all He has created you to be!
What a season!

Spirit Sensitive Church

Here is a question...Is it possible that the church of our generation has compromised the gospel message and offended the Holy Spirit in an attempt to not offend man and our religious traditions/expectations? Quite possibly yes!
Think about this...How many churches have reduced the gospel of the kingdom to just the gospel of salvation? How many times have pastors squelched a move of the Holy Spirit in order to not offend people? Are we so arrogant as to limit what we accept from the Holy Spirit in our services? Are we so arrogant to believe that God can only do what we think is "orderly"? Can a supernatural God be limited by our religious traditions?
Are we more comfortable with our traditions than with the Holy Spirit?
I don't know about you, but I have had enough of tradition and trying to please man! I want more of the Living God and His presence! I want to see His glory and Spirit move in power in every meeting! How about you? It has been my experience preaching the gospel of the kingdom on almost every continent, that if we allow Him to move and expect Him to do great things, He will! He will use His power to display to the world that He is God if we will only provide an environment that welcomes His moving.
I cannot speak for other pastors, but as for our church, His presence is our priority. We will preach His word, worship Him extravagantly, and allow His Holy Spirit to do whatever He pleases in every meeting. Why not?
We do not need more feel good parties or meetings. We need to provide a place where God's children can have power encounters with Him and be forever changed.
People should walk into our services, see signs and wonders, and manifestations of the Holy Spirit and say, "Surely God is in this place!" Let us not reduce the true gospel of the kingdom to manageable ideas and doctrines that are but a form without power.

Come Touch The Fire! The Altar is Always Hot!

During a time of prayer before a recent Outpouring meeting, the Lord shared with me a word that is specifically for the revival in our region. I have felt led to share this word on two occasions during the recent Pentecost weekend and now via this blog. I feel the word was not just for this past weekend, but for the weeks, months, and even years to come as we learn to live in this great outpouring of the Holy Spirit that is beginning in our city and in other places in our region.
Here it goes...
Come touch the fire! Those who need to be here, those who are hungry, I will send. They will come and will be the carriers of My fire. They shall gather and My fire will come in great measure. It will come in a great measure and the altar here will burn as an eternal flame. Many will come to light their torch and receive a live, burning coal from the Altar. My fire shall be dispensed freely here. The leaders will get it, the kids will get it, everyone will receive My fresh Fire that comes with an open heart. None will leave in want. This fire will even burn at a different color because it has a greater intensity as it originates from the very throne room of God.
As many as come shall receive and they shall receive all they desire. Those who desire a taste shall receive a taste, those who desire much shall receive much! Some will leave with flashlights and torches, but some will leave with great volcanoes ready to erupt with my fire and glory! My fire has been released and shall not be extinguished!
Let them come and receive. Let them come and be filled! From this region I will send My generals, My tens, My hundreds, My thousands.
You have seen angels here and angelic activity will increase greatly in the days to come. This is a gathering place for My children and for My angels. My hosts, My armies, will gather and be dispatched. The banner of Jesus Christ and His love is being unfurled over this place and that banner, the banner of My love, will draw the nations to this place and to My fire which burns for them.

The Well of Revival is Open! An Explosion of the Spirit!

A well of revival has been opened in our region. To quote one of our ministry leaders, this weekend at Greeensprings Chapel was "glorious"! To quote another, "the well has been opened". For several months, there seemed to be a building of expectation of a great thing that the Father wanted to release in our church. I believe this past weekend we saw the first large outpouring of a long promised revival at Greensprings Chapel. The meetings began around 7:00pm and for the first couple of hours each night, we experienced a wonderful time of worship and Matt Sorger brought a great teaching from God's Word. But each night, at around 9:30 -10:00 something special happened as Matt began to minister under the anointing of the Holy Spirit. It was as if an explosion went off at the altar when the glory of God swept through the church. All types of people from every background began to fall under the power of God. I believe the Lord has spoken that something holy has been tapped into that shall remain open and not be closed! This is a season of open heaven over our city and region!
People attended from all over our state and several from North Carolina. We began receiving reports of healings and changed lives by the very next morning!
Every Sunday continues to be new and different as the Lord leads us in worship. What an amazing journey!

Camping in His Presence and Divine Creativity!

What an amazing time we had in God's presence on Sunday! The Praise and worship was powerful and then His Presence just dropped on us!
This week there has been a continuation in the flood of revelation coming from the heart of God to our church. I felt led to share two of the main points in this week's blog.
The first is a word shared with my wife Valerie. She had a vision where in the middle of the increasingly difficult times we are facing in the world, the economic uncertainty, flu pandemics, etc...that the children of God are to run into the Father's presence. She saw a picture of many believers literally camped out in tents in front of the pillar of fire that is the visible presence of God. While we were in soaking prayer Tuesday, I actually saw a cloud of His glory in the sanctuary. It was as if we were camped in a mist that was the tangible presence of God! For a moment I thought my glasses were dirty, but I believe what I saw was the cloud of God's glory in our sanctuary.
When we camp in His presence we need not fear anything! We are kingdom people and the events of this world hold no danger for us, His children who have chosen to make our camp in His very presence. There we are in His camp, in His presence, with the host of heaven encamped around us.
The second revelation I would like to share is that in this season the Father is releasing in a great measure His nature as a creative God. As His children, with His DNA, we are to called and equipped to be a creative people. Because of the cross and resurrection of Jesus, we have the very heart of God within us. We can feel emotion and see beauty on a different level than those who do not know Him. As we are in His presence we are transformed more into His image and He gives us eyes to see beauty and detail as He does. We have a greater capacity to feel all emotions because of the Holy Spirit living within us.
From the church in this season will come a release of the most beautiful art, dance and song that the world has ever seen. The most important writings and books are being released today in the authority of Almighty God. From the kingdom of heaven and the very heart of God these masterpieces will spring forth and flow through the church. As a child of God, you are made to create!
Today, I want to encourage you to begin to move and act and watch as the Lord of all heaven uses you to create. You are the brush and pen in His hand!
There is a fountain of creativity bubbling forth!

Receive the Kingdom! As a Child!

The time of outpouring has come and the Kingdom is ours to receive! The harvesters are overtaking the sowers in this season!
"...whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child will not enter it at all."
(Mark 10:15)
A couple of weeks ago in prayer, the Father revealed to me the importance of believing as a child. I felt I heard Him say that the key to greatness in His kingdom is to remain like a child in your faith. Like a child, we are to remain in constant all of His wonders in our daily life. His miracles are so fantastic and His creation is glorious.
It is not your reasoning or cognitive abilities that make you anything special, but rather your ability to see, hear and believe as a child. The kingdom can be entered and experienced every day, but as the above scripture indicates, only when we receive it as a child.
As Jesus said, only believe and you will see the glory of God! Do not over analyze when He speaks to you, but purposefully see, trust, and obey the voice of the Father! There is great beauty and freedom in the fact that we do not need to understand everything in the kingdom!
I want to encourage you to receive each and every good thing of the kingdom of heaven as a child. Receive the promise of adoption as His son or daughter, receive His love, His power, His authority!
Live your life as a child in the kingdom your Father has given you access to!
Today you are released to believe in such a way!

Outpouring - Understanding His Abiding Presence

Often times when the Father speaks to us, He is kind enough to confirm His prophetic word or encouragement through other intercessors. This week, a dear friend who has an established ministry in our city, shared with me some things the Lord shared with him over a period of time while praying for our church.
After prayer, I feel led to share two of these that the Lord has also shared with me on different occasions while praying in our sanctuary.
The first is that the manifest presence of God is especially strong in our sanctuary. It is our belief that Greensprings is "special to the Lord" in this respect. Over the last several months many people have shared with me similar words from the Lord concerning our sanctuary and the permanent abiding presence of God. He is here! We do not have to invite Him or ask Him to come. When we come here, we come to Him, into His manifest presence. Now, we know that He is present in all of us through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit, but I have witnessed in my life that in certain places on this earth the presence of the Lord is more tangible. We are now seeing this here, and wow... that is exciting!We do not have to perform, or do things a certain way. We do not have any agenda but to worship Him and lead others into His presence. The cross made the way and now the veil is torn open.
I love praying at home or outdoors or anywhere I can get with the Father, but the sanctuary here at Greensprings just seems different! For me, it is a Holy of Holies, a place where extreme intimacy and communion with God is more easily attained.
The key to outpouring is seeing the open heaven that He has already provided for us, and that is somehow easier to see here. God is sooo good!
The second thing I wanted to share is the visions of angels people have in our sanctuary. As I have written before, many come up to me and share their experiences with angels in our sanctuary. Some have said they have felt the touch of an angel,or heard them singing. Several others have told me of a vision where angels are being dispatched from inside the room and up through center of the roof in our sanctuary. I have seen the same thing on many occasions. A visiting pastor shared the scripture from Gen. 28:12+ of Jacob's dream. In vv.16-17 Jacob says: "Surely the Lord is in this place...This is none other than the house of God; this is the gate of heaven."
We feel the same way. Please do not misunderstand me. I know the Lord is present everywhere, but the manifestation of His presence here is special and unique.
His angels seem to be encamped around us and that is a very welcome experience.
His presence is so heavy at times and sweet during worship. We are beginning to understand His glory and see more and more miracles which are updated weekly on our website on the testimonies page.
All I can say is be encouraged Williamsburg because God is with us, He has not left us alone! He loves you!

Arise Williamsburg! Revival is here!

As I pray week by week, I become even more sure that the heavens are now open over our city and church. How exciting it is to know that the kingdom is at hand and that revival is here! God is pouring out His Spirit and lives are being changed!
Just this week, we had another great testimony of a heart procedure that was canceled due to divine intervention. That is two hearts healed in the last three weeks! These testimonies are posted with many others on our church website: www.gschapel.org
God's manifest presence is so strong here in the sanctuary, and we never know what each service will be like. This week after praise and worship, there was such a sweet and peaceful calm as we just rested with Him. Meeting with the Father each week in such ways has left us all ruined for the ordinary and totally dependent on Him!

During my devotional time this week, the Father began to speak to me from Genesis 13:17, which reads: "Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you."
I believe the Lord is awakening His church in Williamsburg to arise and to begin to walk the city. As we begin to prayerfully walk around this land that He loves so much, we will begin to see it and its people even more as He does. He will give us insight into the destiny He has for her and strategies to reclaim her for His purposes. Williamsburg is very special to God and very strategic in His end-time purposes. And oh, how He loves His children in this place!
Anyway...Please join us this week for worship if you are in town! I can 100% guarantee that Jesus will always show up! Life is so good with Him!

Prophetic Release! Building His House!

Week after week I have been blown away by the Father's eagerness to speak to us as a church. Over the years as a revivalist, itinerant minister, and now as a pastor, I have seen the Lord move among His children in countless ways around the world. In all these times, I can honestly say that I have never been a part of a church where so many in the church regularly receive prophetic visions.
Our Sunday morning services are fantastic and the Lord always speaks, but the soaking prayer meetings on Tuesday evenings have just been explosions of prophetic revelation and assurances from the Father. This week was no different and I received a word that I feel led to share here in this blog.
The Lord showed me a couple of different visions. The first was of myself. He wanted to show me that those who are believers in Jesus live in the kingdom of Heaven and in our present "reality" simultaneously. He let me see myself laying where I was on the floor of our sanctuary and made it known to me that I was at the same time, laying in the kingdom in a beautiful field of green grass and flowers. He was there with me.
He then let me see myself walking down the street and at the same time walking in the kingdom. Again, He was there walking with me. How wonderful is our Jesus! His love just overwhelms me!
Then He gave me a vision of a huge church building. Jesus, the ultimate Wise Master Builder gave us the blueprints to build His church. He is the one who builds if we let Him. Sadly, out of fear, we have carefully followed the blueprints for the most part with the important exception of the doors and windows. The building I saw was a building without any doors and windows. Because of fear and the need to control, many have built fortresses instead of churches by His design.
The Lord showed me an elaborate highway system that He had prepared to take the love and power of Jesus, the gospel of the kingdom, to every part of the earth. The problem was, what the world needs is safely resting for the most part within the confines of our nice, big, building.
In this season, the Lord is directing His builders, His fine craftsmen, to build the windows and doors of the church. Why? For two reasons... First, what is inside, Christ in us, the hope of glory, needs to be released into the highways of our lives to our families, cities, and the nations.
Second, the light from outside needs to be let in. Each person He created has a special and unique aspect of the glory of God and 100% of Jesus residing in them. Out of fear, we have not welcomed His children. We have not given them a place to live, grow, and blossom into all He made them to be.
Be encouraged! I believe the Lord is releasing a boldness to His builders to build the doors and windows in this season. He is giving us the courage to allow Him to build His church anyway He sees fit. The glory of the Father can be contained no more! The time has come for a great release of all that has been stored up for this strategic time in the history of creation!
What a time to be alive!

His Deep Waters! A Word for the City.

An exciting part of the current outpouring in Williamsburg is a great release of the prophetic ministry and the power that comes with that ministry. When the Lord speaks, things change! Here is a word the Lord shared with my wife Valerie in this past week's night of Worship with Adam Cates.

The yoke is being broken tonight with every cord and note. The great yoke of this city is being drowned in the water of My presence. The city is being soaked in My deep waters. The water is spreading into the streets, penetrating houses, hospitals, schools and stores. My healing is flowing into Williamsburg. My mercy is being poured out here in worship tonight. My flood gates are open and I am coming and taking back each place inch by inch. I am saturating this place with My grace and glory!

Whew! What a wonderful word for the Lord! His anointing breaks all yokes and His grace and glory are being poured out in mighty ways!

His Rest! The Altar overflowing with love,joy,peace,healing and life!

This week in worship we again moved at a new level of freedom previously unseen in our meetings! Dancers were released to dance and the joy of the Lord overflowed throughout the sanctuary. We feel the heavens over our church and community are opened.
After worship, there seemed to be a special anointing for healing and we were obedient to pray for the sick. Then I shared a message on the Rhythm of God's heart - Run, Rest, Release...Run, Rest Release...These seem to be the three cycles of the life of the church as a whole and for us as individuals. I believe right now the church is coming out of a time of running and warfare and the Father is now calling to His children to come to Him and rest for a season. As we rest in His presence and in His arms, He will fill us and refresh us so that we can eventually enter a season of releasing ministers into the kingdom and releasing the kingdom through ourselves.
Today, as we opened the altars for prayer, many came. I shared a vision I received this week of 5 waterfalls near the altar all emptying into one pool at the front of our church. The falls were emptying Love, Joy, Healing, Life, Peace, and Grace into a pool. As many came to the front, each received God's special blessing for them individually. The word came forth that we do not have to beg our Father, but that He is so eager to pour His blessings upon His children. Almost 1 hour later we were still there, sitting or laying in His presence. Receiving from our awesome Father!
He is so good! His presence was so heavy and sweet and His glory so thick.
I cannot wait to see what the Lord will do next week!

His Glory and the Fullness of Joy!

This Sunday at Greensprings Chapel we experienced multiple manifestations of the Glory of God. He is so good! I believe it began for me the day before on Saturday afternoon. The Lord led me to prepare a message earlier in the week on the Joy of the Lord.
During a time of prayer on Saturday, I felt the Lord saying to me, "If you are going to tell my children about this, you need to have more of it yourself!"
It was then that the indecredible joy of the Lord began to wash over me in wave after wave. All I could do was laugh as I was allowed to to see that in His presence is indeed fullness of Joy! The Lord began to show me that the revival that is beginning in our church will be characterized by His tangible glory and by His amazing joy. They go hand in hand. I believe there will be explosions of Holy joy that will erupt like great fountains for His glory. From this great joy will come much transformation and healing in our city and nation.
During the rehearsal for the worship team prior to the service, the glory of God came in such a powerful way that everyone in the church stopped and could not move for about 10 minutes. The weighty presence of God just fell in the place. I was in my office and it just hit me! I walked out into the hallway that goes behind our stage and immediately fell to my knees under the tangible presence of God. All on the stage were either sitting or on the floor. All of this before the service even began!!!!
During the service, there was an amazing time at the altar where the Lord clearly spoke that something new was birthing in the Spirit and that the impossibilities of this world would bow their knee to Jesus Christ. There is a mighty well that is gushing from His throne and pouring into our sanctuary! Our young people led the way to the front crying to God for more of His presence in their lives.
During the ministry time, one of our teens came and delivered a powerful prophetic promise to our church.
At the end of the service many came to receive a fresh and new impartation of His supernatural joy! The Joy of the Lord will be the hallmark of His people in these end times.
The Lord spoke prophetically to others who came forward to the altar. How exciting that each week we are seeing lives changed in His presence!

Revival in Williamsburg is Unstoppable!

What an amazing Sunday at Greensprings Chapel! After a powerful time of Praise and Worship led by the gifted prophetic worship leader Adam Cates, we had a fantastic encounter with the Father and a time of wading into the river of God.
Many came to the altar and received a refreshing in the water of life. For each person the Lord had something different.
During the week this week, I heard Pastor Bill Johnson in Redding, California share the story of Evan Roberts and the birthing of the Welsh Revival in 1904. This revival in Wales was the precursor of the Azusa Street revival in America in 1906 that forever changed the church. As I heard the story, I really felt that the Lord wanted to do a similar thing here at Greensprings Chapel. The revival was birthed when the young Evan Roberts shared with a small group from his church that it was God's will to pour out His Spirit and manifest His presence in a mighty way among them, that He wanted to transform their nation by this outpouring. At the end of the meeting, he asked haw many among them would stand for Jesus and this move of God no matter what. 13 people stood to their feet. At which point following the meeting Evan Roberts wrote a letter to the national news paper declaring that Revival was here! It was unstoppable!
I then felt led to ask our church how many would stand for Jesus and revival in Williamsburg, Va no matter what and to the glory of God every person stood!
As a result, I can now state with a confidence and boldness that revival in our church and city is unstoppable! The promised outpouring in Williamsburg is here!
All of this was before the message was even preached!
What an amazing thing the Father is doing here!

A holy moment in His presence!

One characteristic that seems to be prevailing at Greensprings Chapel these days is an expectancy to see God move. Each week that we gather and come into worship, we never quite know what to expect. Some weeks we are led to pray for the sick, some weeks there is more of a prophetic anointing and ministry. The one constant is that we are trying to be obedient to the Holy Spirit and to create a place where He is always free to move.
God never disappoints when we lay our agendas and plans aside and allow Him to lead us into the place He has for His church.
This week we had a special night of praise and worship on Wed. evening. Our goal was to set aside a night to specifically come to Him with only one purpose: to glorify His name and worship Him in an extravagant manner through praise. Through dance, song and with banners and flags we praised Him. Some of our intercessors experienced some warfare as we moved corporately to a new level of praise and worship. By the end of the evening some experienced a new freedom in worship.
The presence of God was so evident at the close of the evening that after the final prayer was offered, nobody got up to leave! Everyone remained seated and it seemed as if we were all afraid to move and somehow contaminate the holiness of the moment. You could really sense the tangible weight of His presence. Nothing compares to one of these "holy moments" when you can actually feel the presence and the glory of God.
It was really special.
This week a friend in our church shared with me a message spoken by Mike Bickle years ago as he was planning what would become the International House of Prayer. I believe the Lord said that a similar thing will happen here in Williamsburg. Mike said that God told him that the very mentioning of God's plan for the Harp and Bowl and IHOP movement would ignite fires of hope and bring life.
After prayer, I feel the Lord is saying the same thing to us here at Greensprings Chapel. I believe He is saying to us that at the mere mention of God's plan for the outpouring and revival that He has ordained for this place, the mere mention of how He is creating a platform here for the many ministries that will be launched from here, the mere mention of how this revival will endure because His presence here will be permanent and abiding will indeed ignite the fires of hope in those who may have given up. Intercessors who have grown tired will hear from the Lord that now is the time! Apostles, Prophets, Evangelists, Pastors and Teachers will be brought out off the shelf and launched into ministries that will impact the nations.
Hope will be renewed and courage will be released by the fresh promise spoken from the heart of the Father.
How blessed are those whose God is the Lord! Isn't He faithful, wonderful and good?!

Deeper into His Presence! "I will do something new..."

"I could feel the presence of God as soon as I walked in the church!"
This was a quote from a visitor this week.
We are rejoicing as we continue to move into new territories in worship and in His glory.
Let's begin with early in the week. Tuesday evening during soaking prayer the Lord revealed several things to me.
The first thing the Lord revealed to me was in a vision where I saw myself laying on the beach, the part where the ocean waves come up and hit the beach and sand. There they go in and out, and as the water washed in and out over me, I believe the Lord was telling me that this is how He desires us to lay in His presence and allow His water, the water of life, the very presence of God, to wash over us again and again. If we do not stop and purposefully seek His presence, this will never happen. His desire is that as He washes over us that His presence will penetrate into the deepest parts of us even into the tiniest cell.
Then I felt the Father was showing me going deeper and deeper with Him as if in a cave or cavern. With each step I was saying to Him, no Lord, this is so wonderful, it cannot be better than this, I want to stay here! Then, He would slowly bring me forward and show me that each step forward is even better than the last. The deeper we go with Him, the deeper we allow Him to bring us in, the more of His presence, glory, and love we can experience.
We should never stop but always be moving forward and pursuing more and more of Him. As believers our life is a journey and this journey requires up to keep moving in step with Him. I believe that as we continue to move with Him, He will quicken the pace as we can handle and receive more. Why...because He loves us and wishes us to receive all He has prepared for us.
Christ died that we might enjoy the kingdom of God in such ways. He died on the cross to reconcile us to a relationship with the Father even in this life.
On Sunday, I shared a message about reclaiming our culture for Jesus and His Kingdom. Please visit our website where you can hear the message. I believe the Lord is awakening the church and calling us to go and take His glory to every part of society.
Then, at the end of service, a visitor felt led to share a prophetic word with our body. It was from Is. 43:19 -" Behold I will do something new, now it will spring forth.."
We are sure that the Lord is doing a new thing here in our church! His presence is taking over and it is so much fun to allow the Holy Spirit to lead us in worship and ministry to our city!
Again this week, multiple people shared with me how during times of worship and ministry that they have seen angels all over our sanctuary!
What an exciting time to be in His church!

Extravagant Worship! Freedom!

This week, I had prepared a message on Extravagant Worship. It seems we were right in line with the Holy Spirit as we had an awesome time in the Presence of the Lord. Our worship team led us into new territory during our time of praise and worship. There was a new freedom that could be felt and a joy as we worshiped the King! He is so incredibly worthy to receive all of our praise. One glimpse of His glory and we can only worship Him in an extravagant manner, in Spirit and in truth.
Week by week we move further into all the newness our Father has prepared for us. There were shouts of praise, cries of joy and thankfulness as the flags waved and the team played.
During one particular song, a revelation of the Lord's holiness and His love came upon me and I fell to my knees and began to weep. Our Father is so amazing!
Our worship leader broke forth with a new spontaneous song from the heart of God that blessed us all.
We then had a special dance performed by a dance team from In His Steps. It was beautiful.
We feel the arts will play an important role in worship in the months to come and that the Lord will use our church as a platform for dance, song, painting, drama and all the arts that were created for Him to express His love and glory.
We had a great testimony of a wonderful member of our church that was healed of near sightedness after 8 years!
Following the message where the Lord led me to share on extravagant worship, I felt a strong anointing for prophetic ministry. We had an altar call for salvation and then for all those who felt they needed a fresh prophetic word from the Lord. Many came forward and received encouragement from their Father who is always eager to speak to us. Several months ago, I believe the Lord showed me that He would use me to speak a special prophetic word to any who would come seeking Him. If you feel you need a word from the Lord. Come visit us and ask for prayer. Our Father is always ready to speak to you!
Each week there is an excitement and anticipation that comes only from a realization that you are in the presence of God. When His manifest presence is in a place, there can only be excitement!

His Abiding Presence, A New Model of Church Growth!

Today in a time of prayer, I believe the Father shared a wonderful bit of insight to me regarding His plan for Greensprings Chapel, revival, outpouring and church growth. I was seeking the Lord for effective stratagies to reach our city with His gospel of the kingdom.
He answered me with a surprising, "I will do it!" "Allow my Spirit to move freely and I will draw my children to Me."
The Lord showed me that He has begun to sound an alarm in our city and region to those who are desperate for revival, His presence, and to see His face. Drums are sounding and going forth, drums signaling His presence to those who have ears to hear and eyes to see. I believe the Lord showed me that those who are desperately seeking Him will be made aware supernaturally of His presence and will come to have an encounter with Him. Then they will carry fresh anointing and fire back to their homes, schools, churches, workplaces and nations. His presence will draw His children who are desperate for Him. Like a magnet, His presence will draw them to be changed. His generals will come and receive long awaited marching orders. His eagles will come and soon be released to soar.
Then the lost will come. Those seeking the truth and those who in desperation reach out to Him in prayer.
Many have wondered why where revival has broken forth, there has always been reports of angels being present. I believe the Lord showed me that His angels are also aware of what is happening. As mentioned in previous postings, I have had people each week share testimonies of hearing or having visions angels in our meetings. His angels are drawn to His presence like moths to a flame. From around the earth the sounds of the rumblings are being heard. God is doing something special in our city!!!

Preparing for the Outpouring

This week, the Lord laid on my heart a message to help prepare us as a church to receive the fullness He has for us. Before the message, we had a short time of ministry where the Lord shared His desire for us to run into His arms, into His presence. How the Father desires for us to open the doors that have remained closed to Him in our lives so that He might fill us completely. His deepest desire is that we would come and dine with Him, to enjoy all He has prepared for us.
The message I was led to share was that before we could receive the fullness of the outpouring He has reserved for us that we had to make sure our house was in order. We had to allow Him to do some spiritual housecleaning in our lives. As a church and for individuals we prayed for stongholds to be broken that had been holding us back from more of God's glory.
We repented and prayed against unforgiveness, bitterness, sin of diffent types, guilt, low self esteem, judging others, disrespecting others, anything that might be in our lives and homes that might hinder us receiving the fullness of God's promised outpouring in our lives. I believe that as a congregation and as individuals we experienced a new freedom as we allowed the Lord to cleanse us anew.
Christ has done it, but we often times allow sin of different types footholds in our lives. The Father, a holy God, does not share space with Satan or his junk.
By addressing these issues, I believe we can now move forward and receive more of the goodness He has prepared for His end-times bride. More of your glory Lord! We are desperate to see your face! To see you move mightily in our generation!

The Breath of Life

Praise God for His faithfulness! One of my favorite times of the week is our Tuesday evening Praise and Prayer ministry which meets in our sanctuary at 7:00pm. This meeting is really a combination of Soaking Prayer and Praise and Worship. Last night, we had an intense and beautiful time of soaking in the Father's Presence. Each of us in attendance received quite a bit of non-stop revelation during the time of ministry.
At the end of the meeting, the Lord blessed me with a vision during the prayer. We have a large sanctuary with a rather high ceiling. I clearly saw the Lord Jesus leaning down and lifting open the roof of our church and breathing and blowing His breath of life into the building. As I sought the Lord to give me the meaning He led me to Genesis 2:7 " Then the Lord God formed man from the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being."
I believe the Lord was showing me that He was indeed breathing His life into our church! Everyone there sensed the change in the atmosphere brought on by the Presence of God. The Presence was so strong we could all smell the fragrance of the Lord! The sweet aroma of His Presence.
Also, during the time of ministry,I felt I heard the Lord say that if I listened closely that I could actually hear the sounds of heaven. Today, while having coffee with one of our worship leaders, she shared with me that a couple of members of the worship team heard the sound of angels during rehearsal on Sunday morning. This is such a confirmation for me as several weeks ago the Lord began to share with me in times of prayer that people will see angels in our meetings during worship and during times of ministry. Each of the last three weeks, someone different in the church has shared with me that they have heard angels singing, seen an angel or heard the sounds of what they believed to be angels!
Wow! God is really moving! We are still a relatively small church in terms of numbers so all of this is so humbling and precious to us. We cannot wait for the next meeting!

The fire of the Lord!

It is with great excitement that I write this week's entry. At first, it seemed that this week we were having a hard time moving into the place the we needed to be in worship. There seemed to be a lot of spiritual warfare going on because we are going to a new level in worship. In the end, we had a breakthrough and I believe that we are on our way to an amazing freedom in worship. There still seems to be yet another level that we have yet to break into. I am sure that as we pursue His presence and press in that we shall attain it.
A member of the congregation had a word where she saw the Lord standing in the midst of the church with His feet in our sanctuary. She asked the Lord to show her what was next and she saw the fire of the Lord spreading throughout the congregation. My wife Valerie also shared a message concerning the fire of the Lord. The Father was asking us if we really wanted His fire. I am sure the Lord desires us to pursue His presence with complete abandonment.
It seems that week by week the Lord is leading us deeper as we as a corporate body can handle it.
So many are encouraged. We shared testimonies of physical healing (cancer), a restored relationship, family salvation, and emotional healing. God is moving! We know these are only the first fruits of the mighty work the Lord is doing here in Williamsburg!

Edging closer! Wading into the River II

Today was a wonderful day in the presence of the Father. Everywhere there is a sense of expectancy as the Spirit of the Lord is thick in the air. I believe that we had a breakthrough in our worship today again. We reached a place where we just felt led to stay and wait on the Lord and if we did that something would happen. God gave us the courage and wisdom to wait on Him, to yield our program to Him. We set aside our planned order of service and gave freedom to the Holy Spirit to move.
The Lord began to speak to us and share His heart for His children. Valerie had a word that as we came and broke our vessels at His feet, as we offered our offerings of praise that He would in turn pour His oil of blessing upon us! I then shared a vision where I saw the entire congregation wading waist deep in a river and there was a waterfall emptying into our river. We were wading and the Lord was pouring into us.
There was a time of prophetic ministry and prayers for the sick. We also felt led to pray for a release and anointing of those called to ministry.
God is so good! All of this and we all realized that this is only the beginning of what the Father is doing here! Who knows what the Lord has in store next week!

Wading into the river

Today, in the midst of the Christmas season, I was glad to see a hunger for the presence of God remain in spite of all the seasonal stress and distractions. We remain desperate for Him!
Our worship is beginning to move to a new level of freedom. Valerie, my wife, gave a prophetic word and a call for His children to come to their father for healing. This was a calling of our Father God to a new place of intimacy with Him. There was a sweet presence throughout worship and throughout the entire service. Very encouraging!

The Promised Outpouring

I see the purpose of this blog to be a document that chronicles what the Lord is doing in the city of Williamsburg, Va and the surrounding area. My hope is that it will assist the church everywhere to seek God for revival in our generation and to provide a forum to discuss what is happening. We are begining to walk in the life of abundance that Jesus came to provide for us. He gave His life so we could live in the kingdom like we are about to experience!

Allow me to share a little background with you. I am the new pastor of a local church in the city of Williamsburg. Several months before being chosen to be the next pastor of Greensprings Chapel, I began to earnestly seek the Lord in prayer. Specifically, I began to pray for the city of Williamsburg, our church, and for the surrounding area. Almost immediately, I began to hear from the Lord concerning the strategic importance of the city of Williamsburg in His plans and purposes for His church in this generation. Here is a part of what I feel the Lord shared with me in times of prayer.

I believe the Lord told me that from this spot, the spot where our nation was founded, the spot of the first permanent English settlement in America, would come the first permanent "move of God" or revival in the history of the church. It will not be known for any particular charismatic leader, but for the permanent, abiding, manifest presence of the living God. I believe the Lord shared with me that His Presence would so inhabit our church that it would be as when the glory of God inhabited the Temple, Tabernacle, and Tent of Meeting in the Old Testament. The same glory that appeared as a cloud and as a pillar of fire, the Shekinah glory of God would abide and would never leave. People would begin to come not to see a famous preacher, but to sit in the presence of Almighty God. They who are hungry for Him would be drawn to His presence and be changed. Then, they would take the glory and presence of God with them and the "presence revival" would spread across the continent and even to the nations.

Our church would become a place where God would pour out His Spirit upon all who would come and many who have been in a season of waiting in the wilderness would be released into the fullness of their calling. Artists would be released to paint and songs would be given in the Spirit. Dancers would be released to dance. Prophets would be released to prophesy and Apostles would be called out and commissioned to their specific areas of influence and nations. As arrows are pulled from a quiver, so many of God's chosen would be released to fulfill their destinies from here. God will send His generals here, His master builders to receive a fresh word, a vision, and marching orders to fulfill their callings. All who come and believe would receive a word from Him.

Williamsburg will be known as a place of revival even to those outside the church. Many would be saved, many more would be healed of all kinds of sicknesses and disease. The city of Williamsburg will be known for the presence of God. The name Williamsburg will be synanomous with God's Presence and the name of Jesus. Ancient wells would begin to overflow and the most ancient altar on this continent will begin to burn agin with a fresh fire unto the Lord and set afire by Himself.

We are in the beginings of this move of God even as I write this. At the present, we are a small church, but an established church. Our facilities are great, we have a sanctuary that seats over 300, a large gym which would hold 300 or more. Right now, we have less than 100 people attending, but they are all hungry to see God move. Those who are here have been praying for revival in this city for many years, they have survived church splits and they have waited patiently for the Lord to fulfill so many prophetic words given over us concerning this revival in the last 30 years. We believe the Lord is saying that the time has come! The prayers that have been going on for almost 30 years have not been in vain! There is an expectancy each week as we can literally feel the presence of God growing stronger and more tangible in our services. Now, we are waiting for the floodgates to break!

It was with great prayer that I considered weather or not to share this word and promise of revival. After all, I am a new pastor in town, maybe this would not be understood by some. But then, I feel the Lord told me that I needed to tell His children what He was doing in Williamsburg and at Greensprings Chapel. He said how would they know if nobody told them? The good news is that the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand and Jesus is alive at Greensprings Chapel! The presence of God abides forever in the house that rembers His name! Come and see what God is doing in Williamsburg. Come and be refresed! Come and be filled that you might go and carry the love and Jesus and the manifest presence of God with you wherever you go.

In the weeks to follow, I will document here what the Lord is doing in our church and share testimonies of His goodness. Please pray for us as we pursue Him and worship Him extravagantly!
